Given the quality of the 991 soft top not sure what benefit the Targa provides. With that said it is retro cool looking.

I went through the process. The second video swung my opinion.

A hard top will be too wide to fit under the rear glass canopy.

It seems that Porsche is trying real hard to update the original Targa. The roof retractor is cool but silly. The cab seems to be a superior design.

I like it better than I expected considering I don't like the lines of the cab.

Overly engineered? Very cool in execution I just expected 918 style split panels.

You are the first Targa driver I've ever heard of. Why do you like them so much?

Maybe with the cab top up... But the cab when topless is beautiful... Much more so than this targa... (IMHO)

Oh.....that was the reason. Makes sense or they could have made it two pieces.

Not sure I understand the comments on an expectation for some larger engine..?

It's really just another C2 variant.. Just a different trim.. Sure a bit heavier so it could use it, but the reality is porsche couldn't manage all the variants if the had any more variations of the power plant...

Wow, I love the retro look and engineering.
While I loved my 997.1 Targa 4S and wouldn't mind getting the 991 Targa 4S in a couple of years.

I don't mind the Targa being a little heavier. It's not like I would track the Targa or race every car from the stop light.
I think Porsche quoted 0-60mph in low 4 seconds, which is PLENTY quick for anyone.

With that said, there are already a couple of good open top driving choices with the 991 variants including the cabriolet and coupe w/full glass sunroof.

For open top experience, I don't think you can go wrong with the coupe, cab or Targa.

I'm not sure what to think! Part of me says let's put a fixed top on it and use the rear to mount some type of James Bond missile launcher!

I hope it has a glass roof feature and they offer it on the turbo for the first time.

mix feelings on the Targa. think I'd still take a Cab over a Targa but that black one in the video looks sweet. The retro alum is a little too much for me. All black would look amazing. Will need to see some Targas w/ matching color if it's ever an option.
