I would choose #2 with no hesitation. Sunroof is important for resale, 18 way seats are great if they fit you right and park assist is a very nice feature which saved me a few times.

I would get #2 and retro fit the sport design steering wheel. I love the lowered stance on the SPASM and don't find it harsh at all. Can't go wrong with either one though! Good luck!

Agree with those who say go with car # 2 and retrofit the sport design steering wheel if you can't get used to the regular wheel (I drive a manual so can't comment between the 2). Car # 2 is much better optioned generally speaking, IMHO.

I have the following features on my car and could happily live without them.
-Entry & Drive
-Electric slide/tilt sunroof
-Power steering Plus
-Light design package
-Porsche crest embossed on head restraints

1. Where I live the roads are not ideal, so there are days when I wish that I didn't have SPASM.
2. The cost of Wheels spacers are a rounding error, so those are a non-issue.
3. The Sunroof rattles have been known to cause Tourette syndrome.

Hence I'd go with option #1 (with the all important Sports Exhaust).

How long do you plan to keep this car for and are you open to slightly modifying it? If so, then slap in the suspension of your choice to get the desired SPASM look and feel.

If you do decide to go with option #2, make sure (and reconfirm that) it can accommodate your desired paddle steering.

So, as you can see No 2 is loaded but my two concerns are that S-PASM will be just a bit too low for daily driving and I'd need to know that I could get the steering wheel replaced with paddles if I cant get used to the button system. Remember I'm coming from an M3 so I love paddles Any thoughts or feedback would be great Thanks.

I would get No. 2. I think it will be a better all around daily driver. It is low, but not too low. I have the buttons on the multi-function wheel and I don't mind it. The sunroof can make some noise sometimes, but on nice days, it is great - no Targa, but great. And the adjustable seats are very nice. But, I appreciate all of the comments the other way and you are unlikely to make a bad choice. Enjoy it whatever you do and get whichever one you are sure you can buy with no regrets - or wait for the next one.

I have 18k miles and love Sport PASM: stiffer sway bars and springs and perfect stance no big comfort or clearance issues at all. The sport wheel is much nicer looking IMHO- but buttons vs levers just sort of goes away after you get used to one or the other.
If you think you will use the sunroof, that is a plus; if you "need" lightness for track use, that is a plus. I think that is the biggest real difference you will feel after a while.

Wonderful dilemma- you can't go wrong. I would check the seat comfort carefully- the variations seem to fit people differently- and that is what you have to live with every time you get in.

#2 is the one I like. It's simply has more options. I'm spoiled by the keyless entry. No need to dig my keys out anymore. Also makes it easier to run back in the house if I need to, assuming no one else is around or the wife doesn't want to get out.

SPASM isn't that bad. It's the overhang that'll get you. It's just slightly lower but it sticks out more (that's what she said).

Are these cars new or used? If used, mileage and how they were looked after would have a big factor in which one you go for.

#2 but PSP is a problem (at least for me, so I opted out). Other options are great, especially spasm and 18 way seats. If you could wait and research more, I'd advise spasm, 18 way, no PSP and PDCC ( a must IMO). Best of luck !

Ps: I think you should start a poll instead...much more useful for folks in your situations.

Yes they are used. Both are around 5000km, both in excellent condition. I suspect No. 2 might be a little better cared for as the owner is a real car enthusiast.

Well I'm driving No2 today around, I'm going to take it around my neighborhood and see if clearance is an issue. I also want to get a feel for PSP. I would not spec this is I was building it. Then again, I'm not sure Id spec PDCC either. From what I understand I'd really only see a benefit on the track, is this right?

Honestly, No1 ticks just about all of my boxes if I was building a car.

I don't track my cars much at all, perhaps once or twice a year. But I do enjoy a spirited drive through the hills etc.

At first glance, No2 seems to represent better value with a longer option list, so that's why I guess I wanted to try it out.

I'm in no great rush, given they are over $200K I want to find the right car for me and not regret it.

No1 is from a dealer who is advertising 223k and the No2 is a private party who is advertising $239k

Based on discussions I think No1 would drop $10k during negotiations but I'm not sure on No2.

He mentioned over the phone he is willing to a take a considerable hit as he is keen to move onto his next car.

Yes, we pay more here than in the US

The Private party is willing to take a hit? (He's probably on this board giving you advice on his car!!)

On a serious note, the lowered SPASM is hardly noticeable when getting in and out, but the ride is stiffer.

As long as you get them both thoroughly checked out (but private sale has less recourse if something goes wrong), go with the one you like.

You could beat the dealer down on price and use that as a benchmark for the private purchase. Private sales are typically cheaper than dealers prices...

Final note. The overwhelming regret by most is that they didn't get the PSE (Sport Exhuast).
