Front Wipers

Silly observation but curious nonetheless. I noticed that the front wipers seem to automatically 'tuck' themselves down a few millimetres when not used for more than 30 seconds or so. Does anyone know the purpose for this? thanks.

I've noticed that they move then and other times as well. Perhaps it's just the car breathing...

I believe they reset position to avoid the rubber sticking to the windshield. I think the term is "exercising"

It's wiper blades realignment. Pretty nifty and normal.

I've been wondering about mine. Almost seemed like electrical gremlins. Every once in a while, the wipers would move a little when I shut off the car. lately, as it's rained, putting the wipers in the first position (rain sensor / interval) seems to make this happen any time when the car is running -- almost seems like it thinks it's time to wipe, starts to twitch, decides not enough moisture, and stops.

Very normal. My Cayenne does this as well. As others suggest, this extends blade effectiveness by not having them rest bent in only one direction.
