A 500 Mile Review w/ Opinions on My Options
Without getting into technical specs, the frequency response is incredible. It is absolutely a premium sound system that is well worth the money IF audio clarity and amplification is important to you. Again, IF. I produce music so it was very hard to argue with after hearing.
That being said, the BOSE is a good consumer option that's sufficient for most people. I could honestly live with it and not have regrets, even with my critical ears. I'm just hell-bent on spoiling myself this time around.
Most dealerships will have both systems in stock (though not necessarily on the same model), so I encourage you to go listen to them back-to-back. That's the only way to make a determination. And if it's not that important to you, save the money, you won't lose. If it is, pony up and you'll be glad you did. Either way you're going to enjoy this car for many other reasons.
Sorry if I'm high jacking; just wanted to help if possible.
I haven't pulled the trigger and haven't had to live with it yet, but I was debating the same... until I heard the Burmester. I just can't convince myself to re-check that Bose box in the configurator.

I'm the one that owes Money the apology for the thread-jack...
I appreciate the thoughts on the Burmester. I figure I've learned how to spell it correctly (Burmeister) so I may as well go for it.
