You really need to spend the extra money to get the "quiet" version. Without it they are too loud to think. I bought mine from Build.com to save the shipping, but it looks like you can get them direct from Air King now with free shipping.

They work with no problems on the same 15 amp circuit.

Matt, just pulled the trigger on two of these bad boys! Can't wait to get them and see how they will move some more (hot/humid) Florida air around the garage! (LOL)

Thanks again!

Funny you mention it Sizzle. One thing I find the hardest to deal with in the summer down south is that the garage gets so dam hot.

According to my peeps down there it might be enough to put in a whole house (garage) fan in the ceiling but I am not convinced that will do it.

I am actually going to look into putting an a/c unit in the garage but will have to look at costs. At least this way I can do car and other projects in the garage during the warmer months.

^^^Naples: a friend of mine has his 2 car A/C'd. He had a Samsung mini-split system installed. About $3500 if I remember correctly. It cools it down nicely in about a half an hour or so---without a hot car inside. Takes a little longer with a hot car inside. Right now, I couldn't see spending the $$$ on a system-we have an oversized 3 car and it would take a much larger unit to cool it down.

I'm going to see how well these fans move some air around and help it out some...

Will keep everyone posted!

Ya, I might spring for it though since I have a 2-car garage. I will hit you up when I am down there for info.

I never had a garage heater here in Mass. It would have been used mainly to wash cars inside in the winter and that would require a drain which is hard to get approved.

Personally, I'd rather have the hot garage problem now. I am tired of winters...

Hmmm... Today it was 106 f outside without taking into account humidity... and we haven't even reached the real summer months yet.

I am thinking about going for a split unit ac, but its not the cost of the ac that worries me, its my electricity bill every month having to run it.

Money how good are those fans at cooling? Can you get the temp down to at least 80f?

I'm not sure it drops the temp that much. It just gets the air moving. I have the two windows that help as well.

M4 vs. C2S

I decided to take a quick trip to the BMW dealership to check out the new F82 M4. I wasn't going to go see one in person until I picked my F80 M3 up, but I couldn't resist the temptation. I purposely didn't ask to drive it. I want my first experience behind the wheel to be on my Performance Center Delivery/M School week. It doesn't really matter how much I like the car since I already bought it.

I don't have much of a review since I didn't drive it, but I do have a few observations.

1.) This car had a sunroof. I don't do sunroofs. I'm sorry this may offend: if you get a sunroof on this car, guys like me are going to think less of you. But since you got a sunroof, I'm sure you don't care.

2.) This car had DCT. This was the other reason I didn't want to drive this car other than spoiling the future surprise. I know I wouldn't like it with DCT. I don't know how you guys can stand pulling the very weak feeling plastic paddles? I'm guessing an aftermarket manufacturer will come out with something billet aluminum that may be more acceptable to me. Those OEM paddles feel/look like crap.

3.) Much like an M5 the M4 looks much better in person than in photos. It looks a lot more like the previous generation than I thought. That being said, if the M3 didn't exist, I'm not sure I like the M4 enough. From certain angles it looks odd to me. For example, the trunk looks great from the side profile, but from 3/4 or rear view it looks weird.

4.) This car didn't have full leather. I get what others are saying about full leather being a must. I don't completely share that opinion, but I get it. The only area that I thought looked a little cheap are the bottom area of the doors. Since the doors on the coupe are so much bigger than the sedan, there is a rather large area of plastic that looks a little Honda Accord like. Other than that, the dash without leather looks like every other dash on previous generations. It looks fine.

5.) Dare I say this, my C2S looks a little dated in comparison. In my opinion, the aggressive lines of the M4 make the simpler, softer profile of the C2S look a little old. I'm not saying I don't love the look of the C2S, but the M4 looks very aggressive. I wish I took better comparison photos.

6.) Look at my rear calipers versus the size of the front on the M4. All I can say is that I'm glad I paid the extra for the CCBs. Sorry...

I was too enamored at looking at the M4 to actually think through getting some decent photos, so I just snapped a few crappy photos next to the C2S. Now looking at the photos, I wish I had moved the cars to a better spot to get some better comparisons. Oh well, I'm sure I'll have hundreds of photos in the future of the cars together when mine shows up.

Thanks for the write-up and pics! Looking at the M4 in this particular color reminds me of my beloved E36 M3 in Estoril Blue. That color was awesome.

I am not sure how I feel about your comment regarding the 911 looking "dated?" I mean, sure, it is basically the same form as it has been for many years, whereas the M4 is reflective of a continuing evolution trying to improve, trying to catch trends, and so on. I think the beauty of the 911 shape is that it is in my opinion always "unique" and timeless -- it always looks good to my eye.

And man, what a difference in the caliper sizes! I keep forgetting just how monstrous those 6-pots are on the S cars!!! Any idea of comparisons in braking distance between the C2S and the M4? I haven't read-up on the M cars lately.... Maybe the M just doesn't need the larger calipers?

Anyways, thanks again for the posts! Happy 4th!

Yas Marina Blue definitely looks cool, but I certainly couldn't pull it off.

I'm not saying I don't like the look of the 911. It was just my first thought when I backed my car up in front of the M4. The M4 just looked more "modern." It made me think about the understated look of the 911. I had never considered it before putting the two together.

I have had so many m3s that I am over them, however I do agree that this car looks great. I might consider a cab for my wife but I dont think I am personally going back to BMW. This could change but for now no chance, I am loving my 991s.

Happy fourth and thanks for the post.
I saw the M3/4 at the NY auto show a few months back. I liked the car and always have. That said I much prefer the 911. I don't like the business of the front and rear bumpers. From the side the car looks nice.
