Radar. Funny part is drives slow as molasses and is usually getting honked at by others...... he said he was in middle lane moving with traffic on 95S when he saw lights. He moved over to let the cop by and was shocked when he pulled him over. 6 points..... seems like the Bronx (NYC) there is no plea deals. Doing some research. Not looking good.

What state is his license from? If not NY, check if the points transfer. If they don't transfer, I'd just pay the ticket and move on. If they do, you still might just pay it and do the online driver's course to shave a couple points off.

Mike, my advice is just pay it. I believe you are right that the NY prosecutor won't plea. I also think people generally have overblown fears that insurance cos. will jack up their rates for speeding tickets.

Anyway, what are you going to do, hire Perry Mason to test the radar gun, etc? That won't be cheap. IMO these things are only worth fighting if the points are going to cost you your license or another unusual reason. Good luck.

Can't speak for NY, but sometimes appearing in court and asking for leniency and getting traffic school in lieu of a guilty plea is worthwhile.

Especially at his age. Tell the judge he really had to pee because of his prostate and was embarrassed to tell the officer. Or something like that.

Get an attorney and fight, fight, fight. Make them prove the guilt. If one pays the fine, you admit guilt. The courts don't want you to fight. Do it anyway.

It's amazing what these lawyers can do. A couple of my peeps used them and all the tickets got reduced. It's still gonna cost you one way or another.

Im sure some of my MO expert friends will chime in, but here you ask for a jury trial or something crazy like that. Speeding tickets are reduced to just about nothing, the lawyer doesnt even need to appear in court, its all via the web.

A teenager turned left in front of my wife and she t-boned her. My wife was cited for running a red light and it was reduced to a loud muffler violation.
