I too am very glad for the NA flat six. I know Porsche had done fours in the past, but I would like the 911 brand to stay away from that as long as possible. The more I think about it the more I should've gotten a MT just to have the last of a dying breed!

But my opinions:
Similar to everyone else's, definitely expect taillights similar to the macan's 3D design. Front bumper to get a slight resign where the LED strip is more integrated with the vents. 5-15HP bump. PCM updates but no apple iOS, and I'll put money on that. Too bad though.. But hey connecting with Bluetooth is as much integration as anyone needs. It's like the car is Siri when I use my iPhone.

This generation grew up building computers, not working on cars....hence the obsession with electronics.

The 991 is almost perfect as it is. But if I had any say, in ADDITION to the previously mentioned items, I'd like to see...

1) Parking brake moved to center console where I can see it.
2) USB port in center console (not just in glove box)
3) Space for my smart phone to sit within reach (I don't like to put it in a closed glove box)
4) Ability to remove center console buttons that are not needed.
5) An "engine start button" rather than a stupid **** to turn
6) Heads-up display
7) Mouse-driven PCM rather than touchscreen that smudges.
9) Mesh in front air vents (believe it or not I found a small dead bird in one of my vents after some spirited driving).
10) A manual transmission that automatically prevents accidental over-rev on downshift.

Very good points Serge. I'd have all of those except perhaps the mouse for the screen. Happy to touch - but more responsive please. It's so slow. And I'm a PDK guy but happy for your MT boys to get what you want.

I would add an interim mode between current Sport and Sport Plus. Latter is too aggressive for street use, but former can be quite tame. Sport plus should be a fast road mode, and the redline/track mode should be called Track.

No, not true... The 50 year old+ male demographics of the 911's is still in of the generation that used timing lights and dwell tachs.. Those of us spent most of the 1970's working on our 60's and early 70's muscle cars.

I just like having some nice stuff on my car.. (or airplane) too. Back then it was stereo's now it's a few more gadgets...

It was really the 80's cars that began to be unable to be worked on normally anymore and sorta killed most guys learning to work on their own cars.. Seems like the focus shifted to aftermarket accessories, weird blinky lights and lame looking honda's...

But I agree with you it's dead for newer generations and I listen to some of the questions about simple car, engine mechanical things even on this board and wonder to myself as well.. And I get the realization that changing the oil, minor tuneups seems very complicated to most..

Not criticizing, as I think it's just a result of how auto technology has changed. I'm sure there were people about 1905 that sat around and lamented how cars ruined everything.. now no one knows how to ride a Horse!

agree with you on the Parking brake, but I can't see anyway to do that with the styling.. doubt that would happen on a mid series change.. but who0 knows
