which 20' replacement tire are you using?
Lunarx said this in a different thread: "I bet the improved price on the PSS is a big factor in their popularity.
PS2 is a great tire also, but they may as well not exist, since they cost so much more than PSS.
The other interesting thing is the PZero N0 Front is only SL rated, where the PSS is XL/RF.
Most consider XL/RF better, so not to worry.
As for sizes it's very simple:
255-35-20 F
305-30-20 R
Many have commented that the PSS do not look so good when stretched on wide wheels.
Therefore, you will be happier with the 1 size wider fitment for PSS."
I'm hoping to put them on mine when I need them, but I would be interested to hear how these are received by people who try them.

I guess if you need an All Season Tire, the Proxes 4 Plus is not so bad.
However, it's not in the same performance league as the other tires on your list.
Even in the Toyo line up it's ranked a notch down on performance.

However, When it's snowing you will probably walk all over PSS
If your fronts are still good, why not just get rear PZero's.
Nobody should have expired fronts yet, unless they are doing track days.
If the idea is just to save money, Stalkers's NT05 suggestion was good.
I am actually very curious about their NVH levels, in daily driving (as PSS/PZero are not luxury tires either).
BTW - NT05 and NT01 are very popular in the modded Vette community.

Not so sure about PSS on 991
First chance I had I swapped the zeros out for pilots on the panny and won't go back. But the panny's just a big heavy cruiser and really, comfort is everything.
But on the 991 I like the zeros more for feedback and feel. I found the pilots to feel a little bit 'numb' when pushed (especially on the 996), whereas on the 991 I can better feel the grain of the road with the zeros (even through your much-maligned electric steering wheel).
No question the pilots last longer.

Thanks for the link. I am in South Florida so I don't need All Season tires. I did not lease my car so I'm not concerned about that. I wonder why the tire store recommended Proxies 4 plus when instead the Toyo T1R and T1 Sport are summer tires and better options. Have any of your used Toyo T1R or T1 Sport?

There are over a dozen "Pilot" derivatives in the Michelin line up.
I'm comparing PSSs on a 996 to straight Zeros -there are over a dozen 'zero' derivatives in the Pirelli line up
- on the 991. Maybe not exactly apples to apples.Trofeos next?

I has PS2s and later PSS on my street wheels.
The Nt05 is a good compromise if you track the car on a regular basis, if not, its not worth savings. It has a very stiff sidewall, noisier, and does not clear water as well as the Pilots.
So if its only for the street, I would pass. I will most likely get a set of NT05s for track use, throw them on my OEM rims. Cheaper, last a good time, don't get as greasy as quick, and have a good amount of grip compared to other tires mentioned on this thread.
I used the NT05 and the RS-3 has a track tire mostly on my E90 M3.

). Have you/anyone had experience with Yoko AD08R's ? They will not be as sticky as R-compound, but I am looking at something more aggressive than PSS for the track, and that resists better to increased temperature, but more versatile and lasting longer than R888's.I do not mean to hijack the thread, but maybe the answer to the question will be relevant to other participants too...
NT05 seem to be a good option indeed. Unfortunately, they do not exist in 19" in the right size for our cars (I know the thread is about 20", but I am going slightly off topic

Let us know how you like them.
I never heard anyone say they thought the PZero performed better, than PSS.
I think they are close though.
Although, you might be right about PZero being more responsive.
To me they always felt like they were changing direction with every bump and twitch of the wheel where the PSS seem to just go where you point them.

I have them on my E63 and am amazed how quiet and comfortable they are, plus they have far more performance than the OEM PZeros.
I really wanted them for my 991, but no 20's.
In the end, compared to 20" 255/305 PSS, it's hard to say which would perform better and maintain grip longer on track.
Although, I can assure you the 19" 245/285 RE11 would be quieter and more comfortable.

Since PSS are not much better in NVH, I wonder how bad the NT05 really would be.
It helps hearing your impression on them.
I guess it was enough of a difference to warrant a separate set of street tires.
