Something familiar to us
It's smart marketing and also is fun for the buyer. I'm sure not many people purchase a Porsche on a shoestring budget, so why not indulge on some options that further improve the buying experience.
Of course the "Occupy Wall Street" crowd despises people like us ... but who really cares? If you work hard for your money and pay taxes, there shouldn't be any feelings of guilt.

I saw this article over the weekend, and also found it very interesting. I was a bit surprised by just how option-laden the average Carrera S car is, given that the article claims an average transaction price of $135k (about $35k above the base price of a Carrera S coupe). As for the options and the cost of such otions, I agree with Tina that it's simply smart marketing by Porsche. They wouldn't offer these options if no one ordered them.

<looking around>..... I did! I have a stripper car.....most the right side of the window sticker is blank! I have to use a lever to adjust the seats, have no toasty buns warmers, crummy FM radio, and a plastic dash! Ya'll should feel sorry for me....and if you REALLY do, then I'll gladly accept some PayPal donations for my HRE wheel fund.
