I have a 991 Carrera S for daily driver and track duty. Very interested in the Fabspeed Supersport X-pipe exhaust system, which eliminates the side mufflers and replaces the center muffler(s) with an X-pipe and resonators. Should sound terrific, but more important, Fabspeed claims a 40-something hp increase over stock.

My concern is the strictly enforced sound limit at Lime Rock (88dB for most days). LRP is my "home" track and I definitely want to run there in addition to the Glen and NJMP. Fabspeed's YouTube videos show a 104dB reading on this particular exhaust setup measured at 1m. The question is, since the LRP readings occur at various spots alongside the track, at a distance much greater than 1m, would this particular setup likely pass? Anyone with experience in this regard?

Don't know the answer to your question but I just spent the day at LRP yesterday, awesome track. Our group was huge unfortunately but what a blast nevertheless. I haven't heard the Fabspeed setup either but after some of the exhausts I heard yesterday it's hard to imagine you would have an issue. Some of the exhausts could be heard loudly inside the classroom.

Good luck, watch out for the apex after the the straight. Someone tore it up pretty good yesterday.

 

I was at Lime Rock for PCA event on April 9-10, and there were some really loud cars there. I have the FVD sport exhaust which is quite loud, and I didn't have a problem. I think you will be fine. If they do give you a hard time, just find the truck where they measure the sound form and "lift" as you pass it.
