Think the discounts are related to seasonality and geographic location. Buying a cab in the North East in the dead of winter will probably garnish a better discount that in South Florida where the weather is good year round. I haven't heard of discounts in the 8-9% range, at least not in Palm Beach or Broward counties.

Funny, I went to a dealer recently to look at a 2014 used Cayman. They didn't have the car any longer so I drove a new one. I don't know whether they didn't perceive me a real customer or not, but the salesman didnt try to talk me into a new one and offered me no discount at all. In fact if he had given me a 8% discount the new car would have been close in price to the used one.
I thought the spring was the time they offer less discounts as the market is hotter. especially for sport cars.

True enough on South Florida discounting, I got a quote on a new Boxster in Naples last year and they struggled to offer me a 3% discount.

Advice - buy North - drive South

I hear ya. Assuming you could get 8-9% from up North, it would pay to buy there and ship it down south. But that said, I felt the delta between what I got and what I could potential have gotten from a northern dealer was worth it to establish a relationship with my local dealership. That's not necessarily true at all dealerships but I feel I'm getting value added service at Champion. I'm hoping I never need to find out.

Is that 6 add'l years + the factory 4 or a grand total of 6 years? If I may ask, how much did the extended warranty cost and are their any significant exclusions?

All these discount numbers need some context. Are you leasing, buying off the lot or special ordering, a repeat buyer?

Lol, no one here is talking about getting 8% or more on special orders.

They could be.

I agree with the above comment. Everyone giving these discounts should be saying if they are a lease or being bought. And if they were off the lot or special orders and what year was the car.

Then this could potentially be a really good thread.

I checked - it is actually 7/60. So essentially you buy time. CareGARD plan for $3,281.

Sorry for the lack of context

All cars stated above are in the dealer parking lots and are being purchased but I am also looking into leasing but I think there is something about buying that I like - anyway, I did send them my build as well and I was offered a 6% discount on MSRP straight away (no questions asked) and yes I am a repeat customer - have purchased my panamera and my 997 from this specific dealership

Thanks Naples, any significant exclusions or does the extended parallel the factory warranty in it's coverage.

Guys while I am waiting for my (wife's) C4S - I am considering one of the below -

Sport design package

Aero kit cup

Can't make up my mind - sport design seems to be be the toned down version so....
