Track it ! You'll get a different perspective and respect for the 991's performance and capabilities. Problem solved ;-)

The Porsche engine is a high revving powerplant that is happiest and produces the most power over 4K. The Mercedes AMG beasts are all about the torque, and that's what you're missing.

I'm at around 1200 miles on my C2S and I love it more every day. I think it's getting better and faster as I get more miles on it and the engine loosens up a bit. You need to put more miles on yours.

If I may, I'll suggest that you should stop fixating on the perceived lack of torque and focus more on what the car does so well... handling, steering and braking. A weekend at the track will turn that frown upside down.

^This! True, you'll never get low end torque experience with a NA P-car, but drive the 991 real fast on the track and you will get goose bumps at every lap (from excitement, not from fear )

I say that myself as well..(torque)

However somehow a c2s gets to 60 in less than 4 seconds, something my torquey 69 camero never could...

So some how my physics lesion tells me there really is torque down there... My theory still is it is about perception, but maybe it really in that first .1 second and that initial jerk that doesn't occur as quick in the 911 engine is getting to 4000 rpm that creates that perception.. Where in a v8 with torque starting earlier in the 2000 range it creates that quicker burst that makes it feel more violent..

The C63 is a real fun car to drive (real tire shredder) however you should really take a Turbo for a test drive I think all your problems will be solved...

Sounds like he wants speed and wants to be under 150k. GT3 will be more fun. Also more special than a turbo.

I'm sure the TT or TTS would do the trick (jeez I hope so), but I'm not willing to spend $200k on it--I'd rather get a Scud or mint f430 with money to spare for repairs (truly an f-car guy at heart, just need a bigger wallet at the moment)

I guess I'm here to vent more than find a solution (money fixes everything, but I'm not comfortable spending $200k, yet )

I just wish the c2s had come with more torque, it would be perfect

With your lease in infancy - wait a year for prices to drop on 991TTs.

It's like HD TV.... You never realise how good it is until you go back to standard def TV.

Hopefully it will all make sense soon... If not then follow your heart... YOU need to be happy when you're spending this kind of money.

Thumbs up for your honesty

You must have driven the car before buying, what gives?

Of course I drove a c2s before ordering mine.
I had a lengthy test drive (30-45 mins) and beat the snot out of a test mule with a few thousand miles on it.
The car is great and I find test drives can only provide so much.
I test drove a new M6, a Maser MC, and a f430 the same day.
I was blown away at how good the 991 was and hence, why I ordered my car.
The car is amazing in every other category, but I just wish it had more oomph.
I also think because the car is so good at everything else, it just stands out to me that I wish it had more power and it'd be perfect.
Maybe I need a TT or TTS, arghhh..........

I've been away in Nantucket this week and will return home next week, maybe I just need more time in the car--I just broke 1000mls on her, but I've been driving it hard since I left the dealer lot!

I'm sure the car shines well on the track and believe me, I wish I could be there everyday all day racing her around LRP, but it's just not in my cards at this stage in my life. I'm in my late 30s, work 12-14 hr days everyday (running my business) and I have 2 kids under 6 and a wife!
My c2s gets very early morning weekend romps around the country roads and the odd afternoon beating if I can skip out of work.
I love nothing more than taking my toy cars out for spirited drives, it's why I buy these cars --stress relief and making me feel alive (the thrill) I know many of you can relate to this--you can't all buy these cars to impress the valets and young women

I wish my wife was prettier...

She is actually very pretty, but I feel she should be prettier and I'd like her better if she was..

Truth is she turns everyone's heads that she walks past, but for some reason I can't seem to see that..

When I see other wives they always look prettier to me, until they are my wife and then I complain...
