I was the original owner of a 1987 red 944 Turbo and put 118k miles on it over 26 years without a single accident or any major service issue, until I got sideswiped by a driver on a cellphone and ran the light 4 seconds after it turned red.

As a replacement, got a custom order 991 C2S 36 days ago, currently at 536 miles. I only hope it can go the same as my former 944 turbo, but I have serious doubts given all the stories I read here. They just don't make them like they used to.

 

Bummer that sucks. I had a new 1986 944 but only a couple years. But yours really was going strong it sounds like.
