Spacers

Thinking of adding spacers to get a slightly more aggressive look.

But a question to folks who have added spacers...(specifically the 991).. : Since the tires are moved a few mm outwards towards the edge of the wheel well. Do you find a greater tendency to kick up more crap on the side of the car.. Especially things that scratch and chip?

I put 7mm spacers all the way around. Kicking up debris has not been a problem anymore than it was pre spacers. I also went with 305's in the rear.

Any recommendations on what brand spacers are best? Or are all spacers created equal?

I have the RSS 7mm Front and 15 mm Rear from Sharkwerks. I certainly haven't noticed any issues in the front with chipping. I'm starting to see some pitting on the inside painted area of the rear bumper, but I don't think that has anything to do with the spacers. Now, I'm in FL, so the roads are a little cleaner than most.

I know ECS has come out with some more flexible sizes.

Go to Wheel Enhancements in Culver City...see Dave. Besides being a Forum sponsor, they are great guys, very knowledgable and are well versed in pretty much everything Porsche.

I wouldn't go anywhere else for wheel - tires stuff.

Good luck!

Scat, if you end up taking it to Wheel Enhancement, let me know. I live in the area and also wanted to do the same mod (7/15s). I just keep getting cold feet because I don't have SPASM, and I've heard that spacers may exaggerate the wheel gap, giving the car a 4x4 look.

How would spacers give you a 4x4 look? Don't they just push the wheels outward?

I haven't seen an example in real life, but 6SPers and Renn folks have said that, since you're pushing the wheel out, you're exposing the top of the tire more than usual, which makes the wheel gap more pronounced.
