Porsche Sport Driving School Questions

How does the registration process work for the Porsche Sport Driving School in Birmingham? I was looking to take the Precision driving course, but see that the course is generally held once a month (give or take) and that it is fully booked through December. How far in advance do they announce new classes, and how long does it typically take to fill up? Is there ever a situation where there are dropouts and spots become available?

I really wanted to take this course as early as possible, as my C4S should be delivered on August 15 and the course seems like a great primer. For those who have taken this course, what are your experiences, and are there are any alternative courses I should be considering?

You will have to typically enroll at least 7-12 months in advance. They may put you on a standby list if anyone cancels. Make certain you get the 10% discount coupon from your dealer, will save you $350.

Thanks for the heads up on the dealer-related offer, I'll definitely call my salesperson before trying to book a session. Also, I have one more question for everyone: the Precision course is Day One of the Performance Course, with added fun/skill development on Day Two. For those who did the two-day, was it too much all at once, or too much fun? This will be my first time doing something like this.

Do the two day course, everyone that i know who took the one day, wishes they had enrolled in the two day course. You will just be starting to have a great time after day one

The two day class is fine. The days are long and intense, but so much fun you'll be fine. I took Performance and Master's back-to-back, so that was four straight days. I can't recommend it highly enough! I took the classes five years ago, they were the first performance driving classes I'd ever intended.

Since then, I've gone on to become a regular HPDE and Time Trial participant with my local PCA chapter. I've become a certified autocross and HPDE instructor with PCA and a Performance Driving Series (PDS - similar to PCA time trials) instructor with Porsche Owners Club (POC) as well. I'm also on my 4th 911 in 6 years.

Be careful. This stuff is ADDICTIVE!

Early November weather should be quite good, most likely in 60-70's. Late November could be colder.

Does anyone know about a discount code? I contacted my SA and he's not aware of any discount code for the driving schools.

Call the General Manager at dealership, they are tight fisted with discount codes, but they have them. Also last year at the Porsche Experince they gave discount coupons in the goody bag. Good luck with your dealer.

I'll be at the Dec 12 class. My dealer didn't know about any discount for the school.

Spoke with the sales manager and there are coupons but not for general consumption. Either they for employees of the dealership or given out in the form of a gift certificate. According to my information, they have no generic coupons for customers.
