Insuring a 918 vs a 991

So I've been thinking about the Jag F-Type Coupe R, wanted to see the insurance on it versus a 991. Surprisingly enough, Geico had an option for the 918 so I was curious how much it'd cost for a 918. They actually did get back to me...Almost $10K for 6 months! Thought they might not offer insurance for million dollar cars but apparently they do. But no mechanical breakdown insurance...guess they won't know how to fix these electric motors

Seems about right. My 2012 C2 Cab worth about $85K costs around $950 for 6 months for my insurance. The 918 is about 10 times the value. It's about what I would expect.

Ouch. I'm paying about 1k per year for my C2S.

Yeah, that is about right for Michigan. Insurance began to go up a year before Obama care.

2014 R8 is $1900
2014 CLA 45 $1900

Doesn't make sense why they cost the same. Got a quote for the FRS which was $1800 and the BRZ costing $1600 or something! Crazy and doesn't make sense.

I give up trying to understand insurance...
I asked my insurance company why there were charging me so much for a 2005 mazda3, 150k mls, totaled and rebuild in 2006. answer was: it's because we have many claims for those cars. LOL obviously! one car out of 3 on the road are mazda3...

then the 911.
-I don't want to shoot myself in the foot, but why is it that inexpensive?
-it's because we rarely have claims for those cars...
sigh...

so the mazda3 is like $500 a year
the 911 is like $700

and I was 29 (turned 30 a few weeks ago)

It's their number of claims as a percentage on a type or style of vehicle. My agent said that Mustangs, Cameros, etc. are higher than 911's because the typical driver of those is more likely to wrap them around a telephone pole.

Maybe Porsche 911 owners are more responsible and better drivers??!!! They do tend to be older which helps as well.

I got a preliminary quote, and was very reasonable in my opinion. Not complaining here!

Car insurance varies so much based on where you live, experience, history, coverage, etc.
