Totally different ride with new Pirellis

At 17,000 miles with the original OEM tires, I decided to replace them with a new set. Since the replacement, the ride has deteriorated greatly. The steering wheel vibrates slightly now (it was rock solid before) and at 75 mph the whole car (felt mostly by placing my hand on the passenger seat) vibrates. I have gone back to the installer twice and the problem is still there. The first time they told me that all four tires had span out of their original position by an inch or so and blamed me for causing that by accelerating too aggressively right after installation???. They rebalanced all four tires to no avail. Same problem: steering wheel shimmy and floor/seat vibration. On my second visit they admitted that the road force values are a bit high on the both tires on the passenger side. I have asked for a replacement of both tires but now the owner of the shop wants to drive to car himself prior to even considering asking Pirelli for replacement tires. Has anyone else had similar issues? Is there a maximum allowable road force value required by Porsche?

Totally unacceptable! This is why I always use Michelin tires as many years ago they were the only round tires available. I finally had to get the tires shaved round and then it took half the life off the tire to fix it. I thought that problem had been solved with today's standards. Are you using Discount Tire? They would take them back with no problem. I would call the Pirelli rep but I would also let the installer drive the car with you in it. Most tire manufacturers / wholesalers require that the installer certify the problem before they replace them.

This is the reason I avoid buying from some small tire shops ... buy them from Tire Rack and have them shipped directly to and balanced and mounted at a trusted shop that does a lot of race work and has a road force balancer to determine if tire is out of round when there is a persistent vibration ...Tire Rack will swap it out . I've even had a Michelin out of round ..a US made one.

In my area , I only trust and use Custom Alignment in Mtn View for all my cars and have for the past two decades .

They have even solved a persistent pulling problem on a vehicle that had " unadjustable " caster by shifting the entire front subframe to correct it ...not too many tire jockeys at chain stores would even be allowed to try that if they even knew about it !

Has happened to me before. Just insist they replace them.
The manufacturer knows this happens sometimes.

I agree they are the best in the BA. Have had many tires installed and 4 corner balances done by them. They know how to set up a car. They do it for track cars all the time. Not cheap but you get what you pay for.
