Das Schild Modification

One of the problems with the Das Schild is that you cannot hang the battery cover as it was designed. The Schild covers up the hole where the yellow battery cover hanger is suppose to go into, as the picture shows.

The solution, of course, is to drill a hole into the Schild so that it will now accept the yellow hanger. Simply pull off the Schild and start to drill holes into the Schild. Start with a small bit and slowly move up to a larger bit. The middle of the hole should be about 1" from the bottom edge of the Schild.

My largest bit was only about 1" and the hood hole is probably closer to 1.5 inches wide, so I had to jerry-rig the yellow hanger by adding an additional metal hook to fit into the hole I made. Nice mod that gives you back easy battery access.
