Stopped by my local Porsche dealer on Saturday just to say hello and wound up driving home in a 2014 911 Carrera. It was the last one on the lot so I got a very good deal and, as faith would have it, the color is black on black which happens to be my favorite color combination. For some reason it was ordered with 20" 911 Turbo Design wheels and an electric slide/tilt sunroof in glass. Other options includes PDK and Sirius radio. My previous Porsche's were a 2008 Cayman S and a 2011 Boxster Spyder. They were both amazing cars especially the Spyder but the 911 991 is something else. I am still pinching myself to make sure this in not a dream but, it is in fact, a dream come true.

Congratulations on your first 911. I caught the 911 bug 42 years ago last week. Can't find a cure for the disease either. Now on my 8th and 9th 911's and had 4 front engine, water cooled versions. I did something similar yesterday. Wandered into an Audi dealer and wound up buying a S5 Coupe an hour later (for my wife though).

 

Congratulations!!! My first Porsche was black also (as you can see). Like John I've driven Porsches for a long time and my first 911 was a 1966 normal which, compared to the 356, I thought it was lightning fast (0-60 in about 8 seconds ). There were a couple of times I tried others (944 and 928) but they didn't compare so I had to come back to the 911. I'm sure you'll feel the same way.

Good looking car! I really enjoyed my 991 c2. It's a lot of fun to wind that 3.4 out. Take it to a local DE soon.

Thanks to all for your nice comments. On Sunday I had my 911 professionally clayed and waxed. I will be entering a Concours event on Sunday September 28th at a private airfield in Cumming, Georgia. Have very high expectations for this beautiful 991. Hoping to achieve a first place finish. I did it with my Spyder and would love to add a gold medallion to my wall display for the 911. Fingers crossed.
