Rear Decklid Emblems
Hi....I am having a hard time having to detail the lettering on the back of the car all the time. My car is black and it always looks crappy around the lettering. I am thinking of removing all the emblems and polishing it up. Anyone one else experiencing the same frustration? Any detail tips? Anyone remove the emblems? Thoughts and suggestions greatly appreciated.
Remove them if you find it aesthetically pleasing. Q-tips and cotton ***** are a great option for between the lettering. If you're OCD, like many of us, the quick detailer spray on the q-tip or on the cotton ball and a little bit of light elbow grease should do the trick.
I personally preferred debaged vehicles. Just seems cleaner/neat to me. Nothing pulling the eye away from the lines of the vehicle.

I was so worried when I ordered my car that the back had just too much lettering on it. Specifically the superfluous "911 Carrera" part. I got over that part. But I agree that you shouldn't totally debadge it. Leave something on there like "PORSCHE" which is a factory option anyways. It just needs to be recentered. There is just too much empty space that it looks strange. Unlike the 997, which had a panel line going through the middle of the back, the 991 is just empty space.
Here's a link to a pic posted on rennlist. Granted I thought the 997 didn't need debadging either.

Oh, and never, EVER, use a toothbrush. Scratch city!
Heat emblems with heat gun or blow dryer.
Use dental floss to get between the letters/numbers pull through. You might need tar remover to get rid of remaining adhesive. There are plenty of how to's on YouTube, but here is a good one:
