When I ordered the kit Tony@navtv.com gave me a call to confirm that I had the right one ordered, He checked what PCM version I had etc.
You could try emailing him (Tony Yankovsky) or calling him direct to see if they will give you a better price ((954) 323-1010 extn 105).
I only ordered it on 10/24.
Actual price was $507.65 with $10.94 in S&H to California.
Good luck!
NAV TV Camera or other camera
I have a 2014 991 Cab 4S and the blind spot is concerning. The Pearl Frame system cannot be used in North Carolina because no words on the plate can be covered up~ it's the law:

I understand that you can use any camera with they NAV TV interface including the NAV TV camera, which I am sure is just one the buy/resell. I am wondering what camera would provide the best picture for degree of view and night vision. Does anybody have a comment on what camera they use with the NAV TV interface?
I really do not have the time to install myself and I am a bit tool clumsy so I have found an installer who has done this installation before. He claimed that the NAV TV camera (which he has installed many) is more prone to failure than other cameras. He also said that another "no-name" brand camera gives a better image and is less expensive. I am not sure if this is a sales job or some deeper sincerity.
Any comments are much appreciated.
Thanks plenum for the tutorial!!!
Launch control is my friend.

I was thinking of buying the nav-tv and follow plenum's tutorial.
But came across this setup on eBay, it looks like it has the lines that move as you turn.

Anyone have experience with this one?

1. All 991's with PCM can be enabled for PA/PDC. But not all are. The ad clearly states for cars with PA/PDC enabled for all features, such as moving lines and so on. The NAV-TV kit will do the same if you have PA/PDC enabled by the factory / PIWIS. The point of choosing the NAV-TV kit was that you could achieve a near-factory solution without requiring purchase of the PA/PDC option or PIWIS coding.
2. Following the point made above, the only way you would get the proximity alerts or "assistance" from the PCM is to have the sensors/bumper covers installed and the car coded for the option. Same for the curving lines -- I believe that you will only get the lines to "move" with wheel turns if the car is coded for the rear camera option using PIWIS tool or other. Again, the Ebay seller states this. The NAV-TV module bypasses the need for PIWIS coding.
So, bottom line is that this may be a solution that is worthy of review, but really won't gain you much in way of features over the other products out there -- Unless you also have the dealer code your car for and install optional equipment like PDC.
Just my $0.02 as I did a ton of research way back when I installed the NAV-TV and Sony Cam on my C4s. YMMV. Maybe things have changed....

1) A proximity feature (similar to parking sensors) that detected a 12" curb as I was reversing yesterday. The function isn't perfect but it's decent.
2) No hardware installation at all (just a license plate frame).
3) It can be transferred to your next car.
4) It includes a phone mount (I didn't use it since it's magnetic and I had a better T-design mount)
I also think image quality day+night is better on the Pearl system than on the OEM 991 camera (which I've sampled).
As for the issue of the plate frame obscuring the license plate - it may be illegal in some areas but I doubt an officer would give you a ticket for it when you explain it's a backup camera. Knowing my luck I will end up eating my words on that one lol

I actually have factory parking assist. But couldn't figure a way to turn on the camera option without the PIWIS.
I figured it was too good to be true.
I've contacted that seller if I didn't have access to PIWIS and more info on that OBDII tool for 120 that is listed.
And the responses I get back from them are just yes, and links to the instructions. If you could hack the PCM like the NAV-TV by shorting it, it might be an inexpensive alternative.
But the responses from the seller turned me off.
I actually have the pearl Rearvision on my '13 C2S as well. It works and I mostly agree with your assessment, but I'm just tired of having to wait for the app to turn on while I'm in reverse and sometimes it doesn't connect and I have to restart the app several times for it to link.
I've noticed this happens when my phone is still connected to my home wifi in the driveway.
For those reasons I was looking at buying the Nav-Tv or alternatives to the Nav-Tv.

If you are seeing more than 5 seconds to turn on or having it turn off and start again, you probably have something wrong with your system. Check with their support, they are very responsive! And the auto-start starts it as soon as you put it on the holder. If I put it on the holder first, start the car and put my seatbelt on the system will beat me on every time.

My Pearl Rearview has an image up in about 3-4 seconds. I turn it on before I put the car in reverse and it's up by the time I am moving. I haven't tried the auto-notification feature for IPhone or Android. It requires one uses their mount. The change in the compass when placed on the magnetic mount is what triggers the launch. May be worth a try for you. I find even when within range of my home Wifi the Bluetooth works pretty well.

Thanks for all the suggestions on the Pearl Rearview.
My C2S is at the dealer getting some things fixed. Hopefully I get it back this week to try and see if I can get it working better.
Happy New Year all!
