2013 991S (993) Throttle Lag
2013 991S (993) Throttle Lag
I’ve seen older posts on this issue. I have a 2013 Porsche 911S with PDK and Sport Chrono.
It exhibits significant (1/4 to ½ sec) throttle lag upon hard acceleration, from a full stop position. Happens in ALL modes - Normal, Sport, Sport Plus, Manual shift. I have driven two other 911S’s (2013 and 2015), both similarly equipped (PDK, Sport, Sport Plus) and neither exhibit the problem. Local Porsche is stonewalling me on the issue. Anyone been through this on a 991-911S?

If it only does it from a dead stop, that is normal. From idle, the motor has to rev before the clutch slips. If you start in a manual transmission from idle, the same thing happens. That is why the pdk has launch control.

There is absolutely no delay when I take off from idle with my manual C2S.
I can leave an intersection nice and smoothly or smoke the tires at will. It may not have the massive low-end torque like my dad's ZO6, but it still can manage one heck of a hole-shot.
My 4S strayed this at about 2000. Now at 7000 it doesn't do it As much. Mine isn't a PDK issue as the motor bogs down and then I can feel the Motor pick back up and the PDK kick in.
My MY10 P4S had the opposite in that the motor would spin up to 1500-2000 rpm and then the PDK would kick in like I dropped the clutch.
Mine is getting better but still is annoying.

Throttle Lag? Is this something that is on every 911, and that only some folks notice, or just on a few 911's?
Thanks for the informative link!

2013 911S (991) Throttle Lag
Sorry about typo in original post. Rather than just point out I made an error and used 993 in place of 991, some chose to respond with "smart" remarks. Doesn't make me feel very welcome as a new comer to this forum.
At any rate, I do much appreciate the various posts that offered suggestions. I've tried the "throttle lag" reset offered and it did not help. Dealer is still stonewalling with no response from Porsche Rep. I will post anything further I discover.
