Demo models?

I'm currently in the market for a '12 or '13 CS or C4S. Just curious how members feel about demo models, as I've come across a few which are also CPO. I assume that demos are fairly well abused, but then again I'm surprised that they qualify as CPOs.

Am I correct that demos with CPO should sell at a discount to non-demo CPOs? What would be an appropriate rule of thumb? Thanks!

This raises an interesting question I think and I am curious about others' experiences with dealerships. For the 2 dealers I use, a salesperson has always accompanied me on test drives. Not that I ever was inclined to abuse a car, but there would have been little or no opportunity for that under the circumstances. By the way, I should add that the salesperson's presence was quite helpful in understanding the car on those occassions. So, for me, I would see no negatives in going for a demo.

The used ones I was looking at were demo models as well. I don't think that they would garner a "lower" price over a regular trade. As far as how hard they are driven, why would one assume that a 'non-demo' wasn't abused? At least with a demo, the dealer would have some control over the driving habits.

Doubt even w/a brand new car I'm positive someone has farted in the driver's seat before you...

Seriously, I would not be scared of a demo one bit in fact over the years I've purchased a few .... -0- problems.

Thanks for all the informative responses - very helpful and gives me a new option with my search. Sticking with demos for the moment, for an untitled, low-mileage '12 or '13 CPO would I then have the double benefit of a more accessible price point as well as being recorded as the original and sole owner? I realize this may sound obvious, but I'm just thinking of the impact on a future resale.
