PSE Install Instructions

Hey everyone, was just ordering the parts for my PSE install and the dealer was nice enough to send me the official install instructions with full parts break down. I had been searching for this for awhile online with no luck so thought I'd post it so anyone who wants it has it.

It was too big to post as an attachment but here is a link...

Hope you all had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks a lot for posting this! Makes it clear that there is a bit more involved in retrofitting PSE than simply replacing the center exhaust. Couple of things I noted are that these instructions include parts for the 3.4L non-S cars - such as the side mufflers -- and also include the tailpipes in the parts list. The tailpipes from the non-PSE S cars don't need to be replaced....

Anotherinteresting bit- The PSE control button can only be added to the right side of the switch console.

Any chance you could convince your source to provide the "Workshop Manual 962755, Replacing Switch Console"? This particular manual goes into details on the reprogramming using the PIWIS II tool.

Thanks again! This is the type of post that is truly useful to those of us out there who enjoy DIYs!

Jonathan, nice find and post. Usually you have a better chance of finding the Holy Grail than getting them to give up any instructions.

jawells, save this to your computer before it self destructs!

Beware. Read the fine print.

Who me? Deterred by a bit of fine-print and mumbo-jumbo? So, your point being? Lol. The bulletin yes- must be written for some shop tech since if you ask me it is making the job more complex to follow than necessary. But other than the reprogramming for the revised switch console all of the steps are rather simple in nature and could be done by anyone so inclined.
I am considering buying a PIWIS II tool and since it is all menu and checkbox driven UI I think even that part I could handle.... Which is why I am interested in the instructions referenced in this install for coding the switch console.

I've completely torn-down one of these consoles, and have some ideas on customizing that I've yet to explore. Having the PIWIS tool would help immensely. But at something like $2k there are other mods I'll probably tackle first.

You give "do-it-yourselfer" a new meaning! Keep up the good work.

You write better step by steps than the "pros".

Hey all, stopping by my local dealer tomorrow, hoping to get the console switch instructions out of them. Will post if/when I get them! I'll also be doing the install myself so will do a write up once the parts come in!

Good luck! The Porsche sport exhaust is one of my favorite things about my 991s. Its well worth it. Can't wait for you to do your first launch control with it! ;-)
