Wonder how much 15-20 minutes could drain battery? I can just turn off from detector itself.

That's at least better than the 997 where the accessory sockets are live 24/7. Glad to hear Porsche decided to do something about shutting those off after a certain amount of time.

OTOH, it's cleaner and more convenient to hardwire the detector to a switched power source / fuse. Another clean install alternative is the mirror tap which plugs into the power wires for self dimming rear view mirrors: see this LINK.

Really been noticing this more lately with some additional road salt. Wonder why Porsche didn't go with a liner?

At any rate as the miles go by more and more impressed!

Here are a couple of shots after first wash and wax.

Everything is packed so tight under there, I assume there would be too much heat retention there if the rear wells enclosed the two side mufflers.

Plus no stuck snow in the rear wells! Instant defrost??

I am sure it is an engineering issue like heat build up, but has to be a material that could dissipate heat and act as a barrier. No snow build up is a definite benefit of not having them.
