This is for you photo buffs. I've been experimenting by taking long exposure pics with my full frame mirrorless Sony A7ii. I'm still getting to grips with the camera and I've been happy with the results so far.

Very nice! Surprised you could get it to hold still for those shots.
I'm using the kit lens that came with the A7ii. It's the Sony 28-70mm F3.5-5.6 Standard Zoom Lens. It's ok but nothing special. I prefer fixed focal length lenses and will be switching to a 24ml f1.8 lens soon.

Haku, your car is simply perfect. Congrats! I love the pics. Full frame is amazing. That third shot is fantastic.

Thank you Aaron. Yes, I've been surprised at how versatile the A7ii is. I was in two minds about going for it. I've been shooting in manual mode and I'm amazed at how good the sensor is. I also like the fact that Sony have hugely improved on the now 5 axis image stabilization. I also like its compactness. I'm still messing about with it but I'm inclined to switch to fixed focal length lenses for a sharper image.
Love the front end of that GT3. You gotta get a macro adapter or fisheye lenses, lay on the ground about 3 feet from the driver side front corner and take some pics!!! Turn the lights on also
Nice shots...love the first shot... Nice cleaning job on the wheels
What kind of tripod you're using for long exposure shots? I have been experimenting with it and took my first one last week in Vegas (oops no car....yet)....I'm planning on taking some night shots of the car as well..

Have you found the autofocus to be pretty responsive? Does it lock pretty quickly? Any pet peeves? Trying to decide whether to buy this, the Nikon D750 (have a lot of nice Nikon lenses), or the A7s.

I've found the AF on the A7ii to be entirely acceptable and seems to lock quickly. Sony claim it is significantly faster than the A7. Having said that, I've been shooting a lot in manual mode, including focus.
No real peeves yet. I should mention that when I was considering the purchase a big plus was the In Body image stabilisation and the ability to use legacy lenses (some with adapters) and use stabilisation. This week I'm going to borrow some Leica lenses form my brother and experiment further.

Fester, nice pic. I hope Vegas was profitable
Ah, cleaning the wheels has become a ritual and I've added their cleanliness to my Clean Car OCD!
I've been using some cheapo very light weight aluminium tripod. Nabbed it of my brother. I'll find out the make and respond.
What ASA and lens settings were you using on the Vegas shot?
