GTS discounts

What kind of deals are people getting on the GTS. The dealerships around me are making it sound like it's a GT3 and not budging on the price. Curious to hear other people's views.

On an ordered car I got 4% in an area that doesn't need to discount that much. I would think you should be able to get a little more on an in stock car. It is however a new model (whatever people say) with the initial "got to have it" buyers jumping on it and many dealers will stick to their guns for at least a few months. My dealers next GTS allocation/build slot is in April, so if you ordered now you probably wouldn't see it until May.

Geographical areas will also be much different in what dealers are willing to do. Always pays to shop around and see who has the best deal. I've flown a few states out and driven home cars before.

Good luck....

You usually get more off on a ordered car than a car in stock. A car in stock the dealer already had money in it...insurance, financing. A car that is ordered doesn't even hit the dealers inventory.

Care to elaborate? I understand what you're saying, but I've noticed the opposite: they usually offer a bigger discount on cars sitting on the lot. On the F82 M4, ordered models count toward allocation and don't get discounts like the models on the floor.

I agree with you, you almost always get a better deal on a car they have vs waiting 6 months to make any money and risk sitting on the car indefinitely.

Agree with you. But an extra month's payment doesn't hurt

That has not been my experience. My 2014 991S Cab was MSRP at $ 114,700, I paid $ 101K for it as it was on the lot. Almost a 14% discount new....My prior new Porsche was a 2008 with MSRP of $ 72,400 MSRP, I got it for $ 54,500 - that was close to a 25% discount but it had been on the lot for a year.

Jesus, 72 down to 54? That's a healthy chunk of change.

That was in the middle of the Recession, the dealer out of Naples, FL that was hit hard economically. I think they just wanted to clear cars off the lot at nearly any price. Can't get that deal today....!

From my own experience I was offered 5% off of a car in stock, while if I wanted to order they offered 7% off. I'm not going to call out the dealers but this happened to several dealers I was dealing with. All with the same explanation. A car that has been sitting for months on end the dealer has money tied up in the car. They are paying a loan on the car, have to cover insurance and its taking space on the lot. A car that is ordered won't have these issues. There was one caveat, I had to agree that the deposit was non refundable. Which I didn't want to do...
