my window tint is DARK and I have a hard time seeing at night when I reverse. I know, I asked for the problem...

Im considering having some sort of a reverse light installed but was curious to see if anyone else had done this and if so, what approach was used.

Never considered backup lights from the perspective of helping aid the driver in looking behind the car during backup. Only from the perspective of "warning" others that you are backing up. To be honest I'm not sure they are enough even with a non tinted car.. Not saying that isn't the purpose but I've never considered backup lights having that kind of purpose.. I'd also worry that anything brighter than standard might be too bright to others that happen to be behind you.

If visibility is a concern to you, installation of a backup camera might be more helpful. I installed a Nav-tech and the standard backup camera works well in low light conditions..
