My Friend Slimjim came by to visit today, amazing to see 30 years of evolution between the two. 911 & 991

There was a 356 at Cars and Coffee this past Saturday morning and the differrence between that and the 991 is striking. Of course, looks are everything and the 356 is one stunning automobile.

Having current, several Porsche's and having had numerous ones I still prefer the looks of the 991 but simplicity of the air cooled models. I still have a widebody 89 Speedster that is not only a beautiful design but just plan fun to drive and work on.
Plus it keeps going up in value.

I went from an '88 Carrera 3.2 to a '14 Carrera 3.4. Loved the old one, love the new one even more.

FWIW here's a comparison:

Pretty impressive that they've been able to keep the weight of the 991 within a couple hundred pounds of the 3.2.

Cool. I owned a 1988 3.2 Targa I bought new on the Cape. Some great memories. Looks like we went down the same path except I moved from Mass to Naples
