Xpel worth it

Rick does amazing work. He did a 100% wrap on my 4S and I couldn't be happier.
No affiliation, just a happy customer.

Thx ma991, I already have talked to him. Somebody, maybe you, gave me that info before on this forum.
Was hoping to do it next week, but from the look of the weather here in Mass. maybe the week after. This winter is never ending.

I drive my 4S year round with the exception of when there's snow deeper than 5-6" but those days are gone. I guess the other exception is when I tear my achilles tendon in my left leg.

Enjoy your turbo.
Getting Xpel makes sense, but I just couldn't see spending $7k on it. I think I could live with the paint not being 100% due to use on the road as opposed to spending the cost of a paint job on the paint protection. I mean, what did everyone do before clear wrap? I guess if I had very collectible, but not on a widely available model. All the expensive things I own get used regularly. My Rolex has scratches on it from years of wearing it everyday. Doesn't bother me one bit.
I was always loyal to "all" 3M products. But their new film product, Pro, and even former Ventureshield, don't compare to XPel quality.

Wonder where the yellow went ...
The 3M stone guards that come from Porsche are garbage. They yellow the first few months.
For a white car, go with Suntek film. The clarity of it and non yellowing can't be beat. Better than Xpel. Especially with the orange peel look and quality of install.
Both of the above films are very good are maintaining the clearness. I don't think you'd see any changes in a white car for at least 10yrs, where if you still had the car then, the film would need replacing anyway for upkeep.

With that said, I only had the front bumper, stone guards (OEM yellowed in 60 days) and lower rear quarter panels done since they are the most susceptible to damage and detailing cars is my hobby. Being a photographer and keenly aware of color differences, you can see a difference in color between the frunk (not covered) and the front bumper. White is the most telling and black the most forgiving. Most would miss it but....regardless which brand you select, it will alter the color somewhat because the film will diminish the amount of light being transmitted. The 911 sits so low that road rash is inevitable and imo worth getting certain areas wrapped. Depending on your willingness to maintain you paint, let that be your guide as to how much of the car to get wrapped. And as many OPs have stated, seek out a quality shop to do the installation.
