I'm considering changing my color on my order from agate grey to guards red. My only concern is that my friends and Internet rumors are that Red porsche gets stopped frequently by Cops . How true is it ? I do go above 85mph on Los angeles fwy's sometimes.

Definitely- red and yellow colors are typical targets
LEO don't profile car colors, they profile car types. Funding State, County and local governments requires all employees to use every corrupt method these days.
Iirc, the last scientific article stated that color didn't matter. However, it did state that gray gets the least tickets. Heheheh. I just couldn't find the article.
In addition or in lieu of hitting your freeway, just go to a wild party (or just try to remember the last parties you attended). If you get lucky enough to see a woman in red, did she not stand out in your eyes/pants? Hahahaha
I'm a guy and heck, I stand out when i wear my red t-shirt. I don't wear red anymore.
In a serious note, go with the color you like. I love red and painted my Supra and Z with Ferrari red. However, IMO, red could become seasonal. I would love red on a 930 but not on a 997/991.
If you plan on going fast with the least chance of getting a ticket: "go fast but never be the fastest! Just pace someone whenever possible. Avoid abrupt lane changes and use your signal lights. Slow down when crossing overpasses and go fast again after seeing no LEO's"

Go red! It was my second choice then yellow. Go for a color that excites you, damn the consequences. Else you'll be regretting that you didn't get the color you wanted to begin with!
It isn't "targeting" based on the color; it's the fact that red cars stand out among the crowd of whites, blacks, and grays that are driving down the road. The same applies to any colors that stand out (yellow, light blue, etc.)
