Rattling Noise Problem
Rattling Noise Problem
Hi Guys -
Had persistent rattling noise coming from front dash, around sport chrono clock and A pillar. Brought the car into the dealership twice. They did fixes to include tightening wires in the doors, re padding of the fuel tank, etc...
Unfortunately, the noise is still there but less frequent. I notice it especially after opening/closing the front hood. Read on Reenlist that it maybe due to the rubber covering underneath the front hood that run up to the windshield. Unfortunately, no solution was given.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

Try removing the rubber covering and drive for a few days without it. If the rattle is gone than at least you have narrowed down the source. But, if the dealer made it better then they were in the right area. Now they just need to do it better
There are two metal clips in the rubber piece you mention. You might make sure they are engaged, and the leading edge of the rubber piece has specific places it fits below the windshield, meaning it fits between two metal pieces below the windshield in a couple places. It could be flapping from that.

Thank you - that helps alot. Would you happen to have pics of the clips?
Thx again
Open your trunk, and find the two handholds on the piece I described, and pull straight up. Your metal clips are part of the plastic piece, and are located on the underside of the plastic piece.
