Driving off after cold start

Couldn't find this on the forum.

After a cold start, do you wait for the "noisy" idle to settle before driving off or do you drive off straight away?

Also with my other cars with automatic chokes, the idle rev seems higher initially but not noisy. With Porsche it seems more noisy than higher.

Drive it immediately- it'll settle down to normal fast. Just wait till the oil is warm before leadfooting it.

I typically let it settle before driving off and it usually only does it after sitting overnight.
Waiting 30-40 seconds a day won't kill me.

I wait until the "fast" idle slows. Takes less than 60 seconds. No reason that you have to, I guess, but I just wait the 60 seconds or so it takes to drop.

By-the-way, you have cars with chokes?

Idle settles pretty quickly, usually it's normal by the time I get comfortable and buckled up. So, I drive off as soon as I'm ready. I wait until the engine warms up a bit before getting on it hard.

Everyone as of late says this, and I think it's true. Regardless, I usually wait until the car's high idle settles down (20ish seconds?) unless I'm in a hurry.

Fun fact: PSE valves remain closed (even if you open them manually) until the high idle settles down. But, a quick blip of the throttle will actually open them up! A dealer service guy blipped the hell out of a C4S a few days ago while moving the car and I heard the valves open immediately.
