Camera placement
Depends on what view you want and what camera you have. I have a Go Pro wide angle lens and will often put it to the right of the rearview mirror suctioned to the front windshield. Gives a nice view out the front but you cannot see what is going on inside the car.
I have a non-wide angle GoPro. I put that in the back window (using suction cup) pointing between the seats. The view out the front is more restricted but you get a view of me driving. And sometimes even the speed.
I have also suctioned it to the passenger window. This is more difficult since you have to use a slightly longer arm to get it past the A pillar. I have found that the bouncing causes it to droop.

Thanks
Thanks for the suggestions guys. I have a simple GoPro sessions camera. I saw someone posted on another thread that they like mounting it to the side of their helmet too. Anyone have experience with that?
