Smile My Retro 991 Cab

Hi guys-
I put this up on RL but figured lots of people don't visit both forums. I've done a few mods to my 2013 cab. Most obvious is the 19" Porsche sourced Fuch's. I absolutely loved these wheels and always considered them THE 911 wheel. Had them refinished with polished spokes by my local wheel master. ("That Wheel Guy" Alex Henderson) The side graphics are another nod to the eighties.

Anyway, let me know what you think.
thanks-

alec

love the wheels and the 12 o'clock mark on the steering wheel ... I have to admit that I am not as sure about the side graphics, but can't put finger on why ... great looking car!!

I found them right here in classifieds. I think I paid about $2k for them. You can't buy them new anymore. They also never came from Porsche like this. I had a awesome wheel refinisher pollish the spokes and re-powder coat the rest. Turned out awesome.

Very nice touch. You have great aesthetics. I agree with msgm1, put duck lid spoiler on. Congrats on such a unique retro looking 991! If Porsche had done it, they would've charged arm and leg...could be a nice side biz for you with your wheel polisher friend !!

By the way, with those tires, it must be riding like a Lexus now !!

So those are original Fuchs off an air cooled 911? That fit the 991?

No, not an air cooled car. These are 19" the air cooled cars ran 16"-18" tops. Lot's of 17". Porsche optioned these on the 997 and maybe some Boxter's I think. They always came black with the polished lip. I added 15mm spacers up front to bring them out flush. The rears are pretty aggressive and stick out a bit. But I kind of like that.

The ride is better for sure. A little more tire is a is not so terrible here in Minnesota. Plus I really like the Michelin's over the Pirelli's anyway.
