Tuning Boxes now available for 991.2 Carrera S

Now available!! The first tuning solution for the 991.2 Carrera S 3.0L Turbo. These tuning boxes are piggyback systems that do not write the ECU and can be removed for warranty purposes. This is the first carrera that has real power to be unlocked with the addition of turbos.

The new Carrera features a 3.0L turbocharged engine that we take from 420 horsepower to 467 horsepower with a plug and play module. The programmable tuning box utilizes factory sensors clips for easy installation while retaining all factory engine safety controls. Whether you are running pump gas or race fuel, the VR Tuned Tuning Box can juice up your Porsche safely. The kit features a stock jumper plug to put your vehicle in stock mode, or for warranty purposes, simply remove the kit.

PM to be one of the first owners with a tuned 991.2 Carrera S!

Why don't you plug into your car first and report the results on the forum? If you didn't dyno your own car already, how do you know what the HP increase is? Is there a solution for the C2 base?

As long as you take the harness off the car before taking it in, they will not be able to detect anything was installed

Interesting. Is it safe to assume that your company will put that in writing and guarantee that if Porsche does detect that it has ever been connected to the car and declines and engine related warranty claim, that your company will pay for the repair?

The tuning box plugs into sensors to change the signal to the ECU which alters boost and timing. So it has no effect on flash counters, firmware, etc. Dealer and their warranty values vary between dealerships. We know how the product works and having owned the cars, understand the computer systems and how warranty is. We will not put anything in writing however as this is a variable we can never control.

I'm sorry this is a small time operation. They quote HP gains but at the same time are asking for someone to install the unit in their S and dyno it. So they haven't invested in their own car to test the equipment. Porsche owners will be the test bed.

As to the warranty; if you chip your BMW with a Dinan product, they provide a warranty guarantee that says if the engine or any other component fails and BMW determines the chip tune is the reason, Dinan will cover that part. In fact, many BMW dealers are Dinan approved install centres and will flash your ECU for you at the dealership.

That is the only kind of setup I would consider for my $150,000 car. If you install this thing and blow some part of your engine, you'll be shelling out $25,000+ for a new engine if Porsche determines the failure was de to a modification.

Just my opinion and I know this company is a site sponsor, but good luck with all that.

Considering that the 3L S was dynoed at about 450hp, how does this piggyback compare to actual real world hp?
