Will I regret this purchase?

Hi everyone. Long time since I posted here. Used to have a 2013 991 C2 that I turned in about a year and half ago. I loved that car very much. Loaded with options including the aero cup kit with a $105k sticker.

I am now back in the market for a C2S but having a hard time finding one within my budget. Trying to be under $68k. I have found a 2012 with 22k miles for a negotiated price of $60k. The car has almost no options with a $103k sticker. No Sport Chrono or anything of that sort.

Do you guys think I will regret this decision since I had a 991 that was super loaded before or does upgrading to the S make up for it? There is a couple of cars that are PERFECT in every way but they are in the area of $75k to $78k.

I know this is ultimately a personal decision but would appreciate any insight from someone who was in a similar situation.

Thanks in advance!

I am not considering a C2 at this time. My question is do you think I will regret buying a very base C2S with no options coming from an almost loaded C2?

Yes. I would wait until the budget allows for a car that I would be happy with for a while.

If you are going to stick to budget give it another 6 months and there should be more inventory as the 991.2 comes out as well and cars come off lease or people buy the newer model. I would certainly not buy a stripped out S if you intend on keeping for a while. I'd like it to have a few basic options like Sport Chrono, atleast the 14 way seats etc.

If the car is a PDK, Sport Chrono is a must but if it is manual, you can do without IMO. While mine is loaded, leather ....., I could be happy with a stripper manual in a nice color and a good set of wheels.

Wait and the right car will come along. I just bought a 991 2012 C2S. 122k msrp, 20k miles, CPO for 70k. I searched for a while and when this car came up I jumped on it.

Non CPO this car would've been under $68 so these cars are around. Just be patient. If you are on Rennlist check out the hot sale of the week thread in the 991 section. Tons of info there on this subject. It really helped me out. Even post what you are looking for and those guys may go on a mission to find you a car.

Agree with Jeff 100%. While both are still amazing the fact they are both S's will probably have you wishing you went with an S again.

Agree 100%, if it's PDK you definitely want Sport Chrono. Having the Sport and Sport Plus modes makes a huge difference and is fun as hell.

Nah man...I've had expensive Porsches and I've had less expensive Porsches. All of them brought me joy.

You can't go wrong, and staying in your budget is less stressful.

I find you enjoy the car more when you don't push the limit too hard financially.

I never said there was anything wrong with a modestly optioned 911. My comment that he would regret buying it was based on the OP's comments that made it sound like he had reservations about the car since his previous car was heavily optioned and he was not sure he would like the "no option" car he was looking at. He also said he found a couple other cars that were close to perfect regarding options, but more than he wanted to spend.

You are right that staying within budget is important. I always live within my means and certainly would encourage anyone else to do so. The OP just sounds like he might be disappointed in the minimally optioned car.

60k is great price for a no options c2s. My c2s is a 7sp manual with no sports chrono. In sports plus mode I read you can't heel and toe since it rev matches for you. I prefer to heel and toe so sports mode is fine for me. As others mentioned, if you go with pdk, you have to have the sports chrono.

If the ppi checks out 60k is a great price! Then I would spend another 10k on an akrapovic exhaust

You could score a really nice 997S or GTS perhaps, for your budget.
