991.1 PASM ride height
991.1 PASM ride height
On 991.1 S/4S equipped with PASM, is the "normal" ride height lower than on cars without PASM?
Does PASM lowers the car with pressing Sport or Sport+ button?
Thanks!

Changing driving mode from normal to sport does not change the ride height. It is still a steel spring suspension, not air. That said, a PASM car will be approximately 10mm lower than a 991 without. That might not sound like much but it makes a huuuge impact to how the car sits and looks. It looks so much meaner but you will pay it back by scraping on driveways.

PASM varies the rebound rate of the shock absorber, faster or slower, not the ride height of the car.

I would love to have SPASM on my car but the roads are terrible where I live and my driveway is a bit steep. I have to take it slow and at an angle to make it in without scraping on a base 911. The PASM would be just enough to have my wife scraping it regularly and the SPASM would make me have a spasm after the first time she would crunch the nose. Truthfully, the base suspension is best for bad roads as I find it more compliant on really bumpy stuff than even PASM in 'normal' setting. I've never spent enough time in a SPASM-equipped car around my town to verify but I imagine that it would run out of travel and get unsettled too often. SPASM looks so good though...

The springs are shorter and stiffer, the center of gravity is lower and cornering is flatter. The car is super supple as are all PASM 991s. In 4 years its never run out of travel or gotten "unsettled". Non SPASM cars ride smoother and handle as good as most people ever need- tire choice and pressure make larger differences IMHO. But the stance, ahhh thats perfect.
