who still has the orginal tires on their car ? 2005 to 2008
Just curious.
i still have the original front tires on my '06, but they are showing signs of cracking deep in the tread. not much tread left, but the rears were changed out before acquired the car. I have 30,000miles though. ive seen plenty of V8 vantages for sale with less than 20k miles and some lower than 12K!
Ive also been on the track the car and the front tires certainly dont have much grip. If the car was lower mileage, stored in a cooler, drier garage for most of its life, i wonder what those tires would look like . These are bridgstone 050
anyone here running their original tires?

Impressive miles for a set of tires but that's scary... tires have a limited lifespan. I'm sure you're aware of it, but for those that aren't: the rubber can dry out over time, increasing the risk of a blow-out.

10 year old tires, I wouldn't drive on them. Plus they should be changed in sets of 4 regardless of wear on a performance vehicle. Great way to loose an insurance claim if you're ever involved in a collision. That's one of the first things that they inspect. Tread wear depth and date of manufacture.

Not too long ago replaced my tires at around 30K miles - 2007 Vantage, original tires (the date codes matched around the time the car would have been originally built/sold)
They were terrible, hard, cracking in the front, bad ride, worn flat in the rear. I also had fears of a blowout.
New Michellin PSS were an amazing upgrade!

When I bought my 07 Vantage 18 months ago it had the factory rubber on it 19K miles on it . I imported it into Canada and they failed it on the safety check due to the cracking in the rubber , there's was lots of tread but the cracks were bad enough for them to fail it .
New Michelins all round to pass safety .

I purchased my 2007 V8 Vantage a couple months ago with 22,500 miles. It had the original tires dated 2006. Lots of tread left on the fronts and comfortably above the wear bars on the rears. The sidewalls looked fine but there was cracking in the treads. I immediately replaced them.

As a Bridgestone employee, old tires scare me. DOT will not allow the sale or mounting of anything more than 10yrs old; if you visit a Firestone retail location they won't sell or mount anything more than 5yrs old. I've seen 3yr-old tires dry rotting before; wouldn't mess around with something like that.

My 09 that I just picked up over the winter had 2012 Bridgestone Potenza with only 30,000km on the car and the front tires were all cracked in the threads. The rears were newer but not really good so I changed them all for Continental Extremcontact DW.

I have them on my 2014 BMW 328 and love them compare to OE Potenza (run flats) and that is why I chose them for my Vantage. I haven't tried them on the Vantage yet as we still have snow here :-( but it looks like by mid week next week I should be able to take her out for a spin :-)

I still have the original Michelin tires on our Audi TT. Car now has 7000 miles and has always been in a climate controlled garage. It has never even been wet. The tires still look like new.
