Suggestions on how to raise idle speed?
Suggestions on how to raise idle speed?
Hi everyone, my idle is around 600rpm when in standard mode, and 800rpm when the sport button is activated. I have had both the Sharkwerks and AWE center muffler bypass exhausts installed, and with both I experience vibration at the 600rpm idle speed...which goes away when I hit the sport button and the idle bumps up to 800rpm.
Does anyone know of a reasonably priced option to modify the ECU to raise the non-sport mode idle from 600rpm to 800rpm?
Thanks,
Mike

I imagine that one of the tuners like Cobb could make you a custom tune that could do just that. You'd probably gain a healthy dose of power too coupled with your exhaust modifications. Contact the nearest Cobb tuner in your area and ask them.
He's been down that road already ^^^. Multiple visits to the installer, tech support from the vendor. There is no fix for him except to keep the car always in SPORT mode so that the idle is a couple hundred rpm higher.
I see no reason why a Cobb ProTuner could not program your idle in default mode to be a few hundred rpm higher. Have you asked them yet?

Good advice. I'll send an email to Cobb and see what they say. Thanks.
