Sport vs Sport Plus button Engine Performance Difference

I have a 2014 C4S with PDK and Sport Chrono. I recently noticed that the engine performance feels significantly more responsive at low to mid RPMs in Sport mode than in Sport Plus mode. I do get the fast shifts in Sport Plus mode, but the engine performance is not as responsive.

As background, I had a problem a few months ago where neither the Sport or Sport Plus button would work, so my buttons were replaced by the dealer. I don't remember noticing the difference in responsiveness before, so I am now wondering if this is normal or if possibly the dealer didn't program my Sport Plus button correctly. I am curious if anyone else notices a performance change in the engine performance when pressing the Sport Plus button.

All it does is reprogram the accelerator pedal to be more aggressive. For example in non sport mode pushing the pedal 1/2 way to the floor might get you 50% gas, whereas in sport plus mode pushing the pedal the same distance will get you noticeably more than 50% gas.

The sport/sport plus modes do change the sport exhaust sound, engine mounts and transmission modes depending on options. But the engine output is the same.
