Back-up camera
Well it appears Pearl ran out of funds and was sold to another company. Right now, my camera is working fine but the future is uncertain. The team is gone and has not been reconstituted by the purchasing company. I did reach someone in there who was in a different area but said he would have someone get back to me. I'll keep you updated if I find out anything else.

American Road Products intends to integrate the RearVision product into its aftermarket strategy, which includes a significant investment in the development of advanced safety technologies, the company said. It will continue to support existing Pearl RearVision customers and channel partners to assure a successful transition while growing the business, it added, and plans to launch a bundled rear-safety solution to include professional installation with a lifetime warranty.
I guess I'm missing something but why is this better than simply getting the NAVTV or other integrated solutions? Other than maybe avoiding running the wire through the rear firewall...
Honestly this looks kinda like a kluge on the dash... the integrated PCM works works flawlessly.

its a kludge to ME because it is something hanging off the dashboard... not directly powered, so most likely you have a charging cabling hanging on it as well.. Me, I don't like stuff and cables hanging off my dashboard..
But I would agree if you already have your phone always attached to your dash/vent with some kind of holder then maybe it is no worse.
But in either case, compared to just installing a clean solution which is fully integrated with the PCM and just works rock solid as the current OEM solution and if I recall cost me about the same $500... I'm just not sure why I would go that route in a $120K car. Actually to be fair if you go have someone install the NAVTV solution then it will cost you more. But that wasn't an issue for me and the install was fairly straight forward.
But hey, to each his own.. if you are happy with it then that is all that matters..

Depending on the age of the car, the costs can get up to $1500 so cost was a consideration for me. In addition to that I liked the side and rear alerts for moving people and objects.
Unfortunately, these engineering geniuses could not make a business plan for a niche product and had to sell to an ongoing company. I certainly hope the transition goes well.

I am "klugeless ", don't have hanging cables and a fairly flush mount out of the way. I think the video and alerts are better than my wife's new Macan rear camera.
I also haven't seen any decent system that's wired and works with PCM that was less than $1500. For me this works best.
