Sport Exhaust and Sport Chrono on new CS4S
Sport Exhaust and Sport Chrono on new CS4S
Hey all I am looking for some advice on getting the SE and SC on my new CS4S.
I have always driven manual so this build will be a manual as well. I have done a ton of reading on these options and the dealer is pushing me to get them both for resale value of the car. (I am not concerned with this as I want to enjoy it while I have it and I usually keep cars for 10-12 years)
From all my reading here is what I have summarized:
SE:
Makes the car sound cool from the inside but really not noticeable from the outside.
No performance upgrade with it engaged.
Having to push a button to engage it means people only use it 1% of the time.
Getting an aftermarket option for 1/4 the price with an increase in HP is a better way to go.
SC:
A must if you go PDK but I am going manual so maybe not that necessary.
All 911's come with Sport mode which satistivies most peoples need for fun.
If you are not tracking the car it isn't really a must. ( my 911 will be a daily driver back and forth to work and some fun driving outside of that. I probably won't be going to the track with it)
The Sport+ mode is nice but really only usable on the track due to how it makes the car feel. Not great for a regular commute.
Anyway, if people could give me some advice and how you felt after using these 2 options that would be great.
Thanks!

definitely go with the sport exhaust. even if you go with an aftermarket exhaust, you'll be thankful you have that exhaust button. i have the awe switch path exhaust and i can make it quiet or loud with a push of a button.
as for sport chrono, i don't have it on my manual c2s. it's nice in that it rev matches for you and it comes with active engine mounts. i've driven a manual c2s with sport chrono and I felt i was not missing out on much.

For your information I was driving my brother 2017 991 C2S with SE, manual transmission.
Thanks guys for both your opinions. I am still on the fence with the SE and opted not to order it. I have until January to make the build final so I am going to wait a bit. I know my personality and I think I won't bother pushing the button after the first few weeks. I did listen to a lot of videos of the 991.2 and it really seems if you get the base 991 it makes a big difference, however on the S variants the SE isn't necessarily a deal breaker. Of course the dealer mention resale value if I don't get it etc etc but I don't know if that so important to me. I tend to keep cars for 8-10 years so the depreciation is going to be there anyway. This coupled with the fact I really prefer the look of the 4 exhaust ports instead of the center two that the SE comes with makes it a better overall.

I wish I could take a test drive! They are completely sold out and not even able to confirm allocations right now. I made the order official yesterday so I am slated for an April build.
both 991.1 and 991.2 have 7-speed manual and PDK options. I know in some countries, manual has to be special ordered from the factory because dealers only supply/order PDK.
Are you in Toronto? Pfaff has a couple of demos.
