Quick question: Is it normal for rear camera to stay on for 5-7 seconds after shifting from reverse to drive?

 

Yes, I think after reaching set speed going forward it will go back to normal.

I don't like how rear cameras stay on until you reach a set speed, it interferes with me entering an address into the nav at times or changing the radio while I'm at the edge of my driveway. My non Porsche cars do the same so it's common.

 

Absolutely normal PCM behavior.

 

I have a manual transmission. When you allow the car to roll back, the rear camera turns on. That is even if its not in reverse.

 

My wife's cayenne does the same thing.
