xpel partial or full hood?
xpel partial or full hood?
I have a partial from the dealer.
Is that sufficient and does anyone have any experience chips above the partially covered hood?
It doesn't damage the paint to remove the film?

An experienced installer can easily remove the film; in fact using a heat gun VERY carefully you can do it yourself.
I would re-install a full hood/fender kit. Remember the installer you choose is the most important decision; ask around the PCA/BMW club members for recommendations.

A qualified installer should be able to safely remove and replace the film with no issues with the removal.

Like all have said, full hood ( no dirt line) and full protection! Looks way better as well. Also the bumper and fenders. Installer is key.....if ya live near Moe, go see him.
IF I were doing it I'd go full for sure as that line looks brutal on half. Having said that, I've never done any expel etc. To me its like putting plastic on your couch. Who are you saving the finish for? Do you guys ever remove the plastic and enjoy the finish?. To each his own .
I've done half...Full...and no plastic as you call it.
After 1 year of Nothing on the hood, it had 100's of little spec marks knocked out of the paint.
It looked terrible.
Go Full or Go Home, lol

Just traded a car in with 125,000 kms. Bumper and mirrors were a little hazy but hood MAY have had 2 tiny chips in it. Too each his own..............
Full hood only. My installer removed small portion in front of rear tire and installed on rocker panels and up rear quarters above door handle and small portion of rear wheel well behind rear tire. Good luck!
