Discounts on 991.2?

I'm pretty close to ordering a 991.2 turbo with many options. I had a good dealer in Louisiana which gave me a fair % off, but I've moved across the country.
The new dealer said they typically don't discount the car. I told them how I was pretty good friends with the dealer back home and the % I'd get. He asked if a discount was a deal breaker and I said maybe

Am I spoiled to ask for a discount on an expensive car? The main reason I wouldn't order a car from out of state is that I'd want to support my local dealer since I'll be getting service there, and I head a rumor a local dealer loses an allotment for every car sale they've lost to an out of area dealer.

What's your story?

To me this is a simple business transaction. I would contact a few different dealers and see who offers the best deal all things considered.

In Canada, dealers seem to have an unwritten maximum 2% off policy. Annoying.

Zero on Macan here too. They sell every one they can get, more so than with the 911.

I would start at 7% off. The worst that can say is no. I don't think there is a long line of people wanting to spend $200,000 for a car.

I paid about $5,000 over invoice with USAA back in 2012 for my 991.1. All options were at invoice. No dealers in the DFW area would deal because it was just on showroom floors so I went to San Antonio.

6% off ordered cars should be a good goal.

wow even in Germany you will get 8% on almost every model (Macan also).
Of course not on GT3 RS and so on - but regular models all get 8%...

No discount at all - these sellers really ned to get down off one's high horse...
