Are you satisfied with Carrera s
I went from a 13 CS to a 15 TTS, I find the power addicting. Can I use it all on the road, most of the time no. But those occasional sprints of getting on the on ramp in a highway early in the morning, hell yes. I also like the look of the fixed wing.
I've been shopping around for a while and found a few at 8-10% off MSRP... now finding the exact color combo is the hardest part, especially Sport Package and 18-way, two-tone full leather with non-black paint.
It depends on which camp you are in. There is a large camp that just think that the C2S/42S is just massively under-torqued.
Seems like this was most prevalent with the X.1's from V8 oriented folks who were for the first time lured away from the Vette's etc. They felt all the NA's were drastically underpowered (if 400HP can be considered under-powered). Seems it was a constant theme around 2013/2014 era on the forums.
The TT/TTS seemed to satisfy this void (at a cost).
Personally, I just think most V8 torque fans are not used to high reviving engines like NA Boxer engines who don't develop their torque until 3500 RPM as they expect it to be at 2000 like a V8.. To those folks, they will never be satisfied. (not saying they are wrong just noting the perception).
To the rest of us, there is ample HP and torque in a C2S, 24S. I Think with the X.2's which are turbocharged have helped a bit at the low end as well.
Personally an "S" is fine, but like so many people it just depends on expectations.

I was in the market for a 4S, but I specced it so over optioned that I felt like the Turbo was the better investment. I also want my young son to love the car and the non-turbos look plain (classy). I want the fun looking spoiler and side vents.
If I bought the S or 4S I would have loved it just the same.
The way I see it is 0-60 only lasts 3 or 4 seconds depending on the model you choose. The most fun I'll have will only last 3 seconds.

I think I'm one of those uneducated camps you're speaking of. I drove a couple of 911s base and S. Going from 0-40 mph around town on my test drives I felt like the 911 is underpowered. I never redlined the RPM in city traffic so perhaps I was missing something. After owning some Cayenne's I had high expectations from my grail car 911. The feeling of underpowered wasn't going to turn me off though, I ordered a Turbo (for many reasons other than speed). I was impressed by handling, and how I fit and feel in the car meant more than specs.

As for your turbo choice, I think it's a good one. The AWD system gives you much more grip. Plus a little more push in the back. You may never know what your car is like at sustained high speed, but that's ok.
