Backup camera - can one be added ?

I am about to exercise the purchase option on my 2015 4S which came with every option I could have wanted except for the back up camera system. Car has been really good and I don't want one of the new turbos so it is likely I will be keeping this car for a long time.
Not a big deal but I wondered if anyone had any experience with a third party rear view camera system that could be added to a Porsche 911.

A quick, inexpensive option is Pearl auto. It's wireless and uses Bluetooth and Wifi. Great service with English speaking technicians! In some ways better than factory. Wide FOV and FOR. Includes side and backup alerts. Minor shortcomings. Details here:

You can add one with OEM functionality pretty easily. The company we use is called NAV-TV. Their kit integrates right into the PCM so the camera functions and displays just like the factory one. The camera is even the OEM style camera, so it's small and discrete.

We usually charge about $1500 total, for the kit, camera, and installation.

I wanted this too so ordered the NAV-TV unit. Have heard nothing but good things. Getting it installed around the end of the month. I can confirm my total cost is around 1500 including installation, which seems a small price to pay compared to backing into something.

You'll be happy with the NAV-TV kit, it works great!

Secret tip: When you're driving....you can tap the rear defrost button twice (not too fast, just tap - pause - tap again) and it will activate the rear camera while you're driving forward. Repeat to turn it off.

Just recently had backup camera installed in my 2014 911. Considered various options but decided I didn't want to deal with Bluetooth, phone, apps, etc. Had NAV-TV PCM3.1 XG-CAM installed with a Rydeen Lip-Mount HD cam. System is more costly than other options, but is fully integrated with PCM, functions perfectly, and all settings are accessed on PCM screen menu. Camera is very small and discreetly mounted above license plate.

Had work done at a local Scottsdale, AZ auto Sound/Security/Video shop. I no longer have to guess where my car "ends" when backing up or parking.

Absolutely! I just went to Perzan Audio in Philly and had them install one using the Nav-TV setup. The guys at Perzan did amazing install and their price was amazing! Call Eric at Perzan, he may be able to help or recommend someone in your area.
