Do you mind posting the photos at different angles? I am debating and want to see how much is the wheel well gap is?

Anyone here took the PS4 to a track? Reading the tire rack reviews is a bit worrisome

You guys are lucky that Michelin makes the Pilot Sport Cup 2 in your OE sizes. Leaps and bounds above the PSS, and I'm sure the 4S for that matter. The Cup 2 will also surprise you with much better wear than you may think. If you want all the grip you can get in a summer road tire, there's no other choice. Everything else is a compromise.

Sure, but some of us want quieter tires, which the Cups are not.

Noisy? Where did you read that? I have 9500 miles currently on a set from new, and they are not noisy as one would expect from such a soft compound. In fact, you can't get them to chirp or squeal, and they soak up bumps (quietly) as good as any tire I've ever owned. It's not opinion, they are Michelin's flagship for the driving your car was intended. Not to mention, mine are wearing fantastically. Edges are still round and wear is even with easily another 10,000 miles remaining.

Personally i never chintz on tires. I buy the best performer out there for road use. I was never a big Michelin fan as many sets of PS2s and PSS left me very disappointed. The Cup 2 changed that for me. They are awesome. My favorite tires is the Bridgestone RE-11, but they aren't made in 20". In my opinion, the Cup 2 is the best tire you can mount for your application. And it's no where near noisy.

What’s your take regarding aquaplaning?

Have you driven them on wet surface(s) or in inclement weather?

Yes. Honestly I was a little apprehensive the first time but I was soon relieved in that they felt quite solid. With the current tread depth, I don't have much concern. I don't consider them any less grippy in the wet than the PS2 or PSS sets I've owned. Compound matters in the wet too. It's not just water channeling. Obviously it goes without saying one should drive safe in the conditions you are in. BTW I lived in Germany for 5 years and have lots of experience in the wet and at high speed.

surprising. given that they are track tires would wonder how they do cold and cold/wet...

and based on your feedback saw this:

http://www.michelinman.com/US/en/tir...ort-cup-2.html

"I have a 2015 Porsche 911-S with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup II, 305/30/20 on the rear with only 10,470 miles on them. Just had my Interim Service and was told I needed two new rear tires. Clearly this is a sub-standard product that requires replacement in a mere 10,000 miles with no hard braking, turning or accelerating. Never again!"

Excellent track day / auto cross tire. Needs to be hot to work best. First run of the day in an autocross will be quite slippery especially when the tires have more than 10 heat cycles in them. DO NOT use them in the wet after half tread depth . The combination of rain cooled rubber and low water removal at higher tread ware will mean instant aquaplaining when you hit a small puddle with a resulting snap spin .... Not a good thing. But when hot and sticky they are very predicable and have a good feel for adhesion limits, Not much drop off in grip when sliding so easy to control at the limits of grip.

I could use up a set of P4S rears in 10,000 miles too if I set out to. How you drive matters. Michelin deserves great credit for developing a road tire that steps up performance measurably with respectable longevity. None of my comments pertained to tracking, and of course in the cold it's not going to perform well. Same for the PS2, PSS, and P4S.
