It's finally time... Help with Acquisition
Hi All,
Wifey said I can get a 911. So with your help, I may be able to pull it off.
Looking for:
911 C4S Cabriolet. 2013-2016 PDK, Sport Steering Wheel, SC, SE, Full Leather, and I'm open to the rest...
or also:
C4 2017 optioned same as above.
I know better than to buy anything without your guys consent. I will post any options and see what you think!
Any tips on where I should look. I'm hoping private party...

Wait wait wait...why private party? Not necessarily bad but...do you care about CPO?
With a Cabriolet and the extra weight you may wanna consider the 3.0 turbo engine?
Personally I like the carbon fiber interior package, crests on the headrests, illuminated door sills...Good luck.

You live in SoCal, so interesting you're looking for all wheel drive? You a skiier? Also, based on your vehicle history, I assume you're ok with not having the most performance in the range since you're looking for a cab and potentially base models? I for one can make a case that lower power can be just as much fun. We're not earning our living driving these things. Personally my favorite 991 is the targa. Best of both worlds between a coupe and cab. Also the rarest of all the 991s. Plus something you might like, it's all wheel drive (T4 or T4S). It's fast enough to have plenty of fun and unlike the cab, when the roof is up, it's like having the coupe. Should hold it's value better than a cab as well.

I would buy a new car . The used and CPO cars are holding value stronger than ever . The prices at UP from 6 months ago and it's not just the NA engine in the 991.1 . The 991.2 is also strong .
I would spec a modest option new car and just do it.

I did drive the 991.2 C4 base model with Full leather and I felt that it had enough power, and with the full leather felt a tad quieter than without.
I like the C4 or the C4s because it just felt a little more planted, and the nose didn't bob up and down as much as the C2 cab I drove the same day. Hardly noticeable, but it bugs me...
My wife Likes the Targa, and I'm liking the idea, but there is that buffeting thing i heard about. Some guy said he's 6' tall and when he puts his Drivers chair back towards rear in a comfortable position he feels and hears the buffeting. I'm only 5'6, does that matter...lol?
I'm going to sift thru the pages here and see what I can find out about the Targa.

I would start with a budget and figure out if it's going to be a cash sale or financed.
Then get the newest 911 you can afford. New at msrp and then build it the way you want.
Then see what a similar car CPO 911 would cost.
Manual v PDK
Rear wheel rather than AWD better for California unless you ski with this car. Otherwise use a suv for mountain trips.
Lots of dealers in your area. Sonnen in Marin area, Stevens creek , San Jose quite a lot to test drive a 991.2 with increased torque due to turbos vs 991.1 NA ones that rev higher.
Test a cab vs targa. C2 vs. C2S.
Good luck with search.

Hey Seapar, i wanted to thank you for all your help and guidance in acquiring this GTS!
I was on the roller coaster and you help keep me in under the seatbelt.
It was a rough ride, but I got a good feeling everything will work out. I did post some new pics in another post here for your viewing pleasure...

Whatever shipping company you use should be able to tell you progress of the move. Remember after it arrives if you are too excited and just sign for the car then discover later a bumper or other ding/dent you’ll have trouble recouping damage costs.
I grew up in the east bay btw

And a Big thanks to you Steeve!
I was on the 4x and thought you're right, let me try the more fun RWD, because if I'm going to Tahoe, I'm taking the F-150 4x4I went with the cab because sometimes I will be fishing with my pole sticking out of the 911. I know funny right... I'll get some pics when they are in the cab...
I thought about that, but anytime I spec'd a new GTS, it was too many Denars...

So, I got one pre-broken in, at no-cost to me...
The GTS comes standard with just the door sills in black lettering 'Carrera GTS'...it's an upgrade for either aluminum door sills illuminated or carbon illuminated. I think you can do it at the dealer after the fact.
